Friday Favorites

This week, we got to do so many fun things! We started the rainy week off with a NEW driveway!

It is gravel and I have been begging for it for quite some time. The funds and time finally worked out. A friend of ours had a tractor and helped us with it.
Helpful friends are my FAVORITE.

We served lunch at our church's fundraiser for summer missions. Serving together is my FAVORITE.

Our small group was also so fun on Sunday night!

On Monday, we spent some time with some of our FAVORITE people. Our Sunday morning connecting group is the best. We went skating!!! Woot woot!

This week at school was my FAVORITE.
We had PALS and enjoyed our new workout room!

Morgan had her first track scrimmage last night! It was freezing!!!! Watching the girls do their thing is totally and completely my FAVORITE.

We had such a fun and busy week! I love this crazy life we live.

Let Us Consider Others

I read a Facebook post the other day they got me thinking. I know sometimes these posts can be a bad thing because they make you think negatively, but this one got me pondering the question--What if we truly considered each other's pains and sorrows before we complained about our own?
A friend had posted about a crying baby ruining their evening at a restaurant. Many others were sounding off about how horrible that situation is. Finally, another friend to chimed in and said to be considerate because that baby may have special needs or maybe terminally ill… You simply do not know what life they walk. The commentor had lost their baby this year due to a tragedy. I do not think that the original poster meant anything by it. However, it made me think. How often do we complain about something that others around us would consider a blessing. Pregnancy pains? What about the friend struggling with fertility. Long commute to work? What about the friend looking to find a job.
I truly believe we could change our culture if we began to consider others. Philippians 2:3 tells us to do nothing out of selfish conceit, but to consider others better than we. We say this; we do it in some actions. However, we fail miserably when it comes to complaining. We gripe about our struggles, not even realizing they could be someone else's blessing. We jokingly talk about our first world problems, but don't realize we have it so good.
Let us begin to consider others.
Before you complain, consider your blessing. Before you go to Facebook to rant, consider how it may sound to those around you.

Let us forego selfish ambition. Let us pursue humility. Let us consider others.

Friday Favorites--Basketball

If you've followed me for any length of time, you know I loooove basketball. I've loved basketball forever, but it has become more special as I've gotten to watch this girl grow in the sport.

This season was rough in many ways. Mack was playing with her basketball besties (who we've followed around for 6+ years with school and travel ball). A sweet friend and teammate missed most of the season from an injury and a coaching change took some adjusting-to. We didn't have many "W"s this year, but these girls played with heart and love.

Cheering on the Mustangs is my FAVORITE and Mustang basketball is my FAVORITE FAVORITE.

This season, I've been given the opportunity to keep the boys book for away games. My teacher neighbor and friend does the home games. Working with these friends has been my FAVORITE.

Last night was senior night for a precious group of girls. They have been playing with Mack for many years and we've watched them grow up in the game. I love them and will miss them so much!

They designed a special play for Taylor, who was injured, to go in and shoot a layup. It was precious.

I cried like a baby. Lol. These girls and this sport has been my FAVORITE.

LOVE it!!!

Showering Baby Weston

I swear, y'all. I'm going to go into the party planning business. It's so much fun and I feel like we tend to do a good job!

This time around, we did a fun baby shower for PJ and Michael's newest. Weston is their third, but their boys are big so they are basically starting over. Oh Boy!

These friends are outdoorsy and love fun things like that. So I got "pin-spired" and found a super cute woodsy OH BOY theme:

I cropped this a tad because we decided this would be a little bit smaller shower and it would be a good idea to have it at my house instead of the church. So, sorry. You can't creep on me...and you're missing the buffalo check border on the bottom. Grin.
Welcome to the shower!

This friend group is literally the best and they go with my whims and inspirations so well! I love that they get my "crazy"
LtR: Shannon, me, Chelsea, PJ, Meg, Margaret, and Andi

Margaret had this awesome pallet and made the diaper cake. Megan rocked the garland!

I just love this woodsy/outdoors theme.

Andi had the wood circles and I had some sit-around stuff. We all just collaborated.

Literally put a buffalo plaid shirt in my birdcage. Hey-whatever works!

I love my ladder. It was my great grandparents' ladder, so it has history as well as shabby chic flavor.

Fun cupcakes with tags I designed and Chelsea created.

You know--just some greenery from my yard. :) mom came through with cake plates, this cute basket below, and mason jars for us. Years of planning parties has left her with a house full of supplies!

A yummy cheese spread below. The lighting makes it difficult to appreciate.

Shannon and Andi made a fantastic
Pinecone garland for the food table. It was the perfect touch!

I loved having the shower at my house. It was the perfect setting for a more intimate group of friends.

These precious ladies who helped host and those who attended mean so much to me. We've been through so much. If you've followed me for any length of time, you've read about two births, weddings, lots of showers, birthday parties, Christmas extravaganzas, loss, growing in number, and so many things. This life would certainly be lonely and desperately boring without these loves. I am just so grateful for Godly community. These women, among others have been placed in my life at just the right time so often. I was never privy to many girl-friendships growing up, but I am SO GRATEFUL God has seen fit to bless me with these at this point in my life.
...and we can't wait to welcome baby Weston Cole into our group in April!

Friday Favorites-Dressing Up

We had such a fun week this week dressing up to help celebrate Beta Survivor Week. It takes a lot to stay in Beta Club--good grades, service, and attitude.

Dressing up (slash dressing down) is my FAVORITE.

Each day had a different theme! We dressed up as our favorite holiday. Christmas PJs for the win!

My FAVORITE day was over/under day! I dressed over 80. Hopefully I look this spry 43 years from now!

Fashion Disaster was fun! We dressed crazy!!! I had a friend say "you don't look tacky at all!" Oh my!

Crayon day was easy, but fun. ☺️

I love love getting dressed up and doing all sorts of fun things. We enjoy being crazy and hanging out with these kiddos all while celebrating how awesome they are! Times with these teacher friends and students are my FAVORITE!

Life Lately-January 2016

January came and went in a blur! I started the month strong with so many goals and things to accomplish...and well, it is February! lol

The month started with a huge closet clean out/donate project.I LOVE the results!

We had so much fun at school this month. Hoverboards, field trips, and awesome labs!

We watched ALL of the basketball :) I LOVE this sport. My heart breaks because this season hasn't been the best, but it's for the love of the game, right!?

WE HAD A SNOW DAY! I LOOOOOOVE SNOW! haha

I celebrated my birthday by working on my mom's baseboards. I feel so accomplished when I can do a task that isn't a "normal" girly task. Baseboards and miter cuts are definitely that!!!

What a great month! I love January because it is my BIRTHDAY month :) But it is also such a good time to refresh and reset for the year!

I'm excited to see what the rest of the year holds!
