Eva Kate Eight (and Seven) Months

The end of school + Roberts Family Vacation + just normal life = no time to sit at the computer!
When Blogger's app stopped working well on my iphone, my blogging got considerably worse!

Such Is Life...

And somehow, I blinked and got a big girl!

We will start with 7 months:
Crazy girl did a ton in April and May--most of which included being dragged around the universe to see all sorts of different people and things.

Eva Kate did lots of first things and started her adventure into being "big".

This face is her "mom...stop with the phone you won't let me play with now."

We got to spend lots of time with our friends! Weston had his first birthday party and Henry had his second birthday party. We sure do love these friends.

We sent Aunt Mack off to prom! How is she this big?

We went and watched Track State! Love being a Mustang!!!

Go Aunt Mo and friends!!!This is the 4 by 400 crew. They got 2nd place in their event!

Three cheers for being a Mustang!

I hope this video works--but miss priss started her strange adventure in "crawling". Eva Kate has her mommy's arm strength (ha!) and instead of using her arms, she does this weird head down crawl. It his hilarious and not effective at all! Here's hoping her cousin Livi can teach her soon!!!!

And now...on to 8 months...

This girl grew a whole bunch in this month! She can wave hi, clap click her tongue, say mama and baba, she will sit up in the bath the whole time, she wants to pull up on everything (but can't quite master it without some fingers to assist her), she is a big ole mess! She still wants all of the attention ... example--on the way to Texas, she was totally fine and happy as long as I was sitting beside her. When I was sitting up front, she was super mad!

This month, Melly got down a huge box of toys she had kept at her house from my childhood (and Micah's, Mack's, and Mo's!) The girls were big fans of these toys!

We spent Memorial Day with these great friends!

The girls just love Henry!

I had to go to a school event the same day mom had to spend some time with her dad, so we improvised and EK went too. She was awesome!

And of course, this month, we road tripped to Texas! Hopefully, I will blog all about it ASAP!

Our girl is such a joy. She has so much personality and is the best little member of the Saville family. We can't wait to see her grow and develop even more. She is becoming her own person and I love it so!

Eva Kate--your joy is contagious, and it is just so fun to spend every day with you!
LOVE.

Eva Kate - Six Months (with a little 5 months)

My sweet wild child is half a year and I can't even describe all of the feelings! I just am thrilled to see her grow and develop all sorts of fun new traits, habits, and little quirks. Eva Kate loves to be around people, do fun things, and party all day and all night. She has finally decided to sleep in her crib all night, except about every 4th day or so...then she needs a little midnight snack :)

The past two months have been crazy busy, but also crazy full of things that we don't love--sickness! EK had her first stomach bug, a major cold, and battled a case of the "yucks" several times. It didn't stop her from being absolutely precious during the entire time! She grew like a weed this month 26.5 inches is super long...but at 14 and a half pounds, she is still wearing 3 month clothes (thank goodness for shorts season--tall and skinny people don't love jeans!)

Here are some more of EK's stats.

This month's photo session proved to be super funny.

Eva Kate was in such a good mood and her little personality showed in each and every picture. She also is sitting by herself now and thinks she can stand up (ha!), so she spent a lot of time trying to get out of whatever position I put her in.

This month was full of fun and adventure! We spent a ton of time outside--hello, heart of track season!

Eva Kate spent some time with her friend Henry and his mommy Shannon this month. She sent me this precious picture of EK hanging on some of Henry's old toys.

When the bath starts running, this is Eva Kate's face...every single night. She loves to lay on the bath mat and kick around while it is being run and then listen to country music at max volume while taking her nightly bath. Bathtime has become Moose and Eva Kate's evening ritual and nothing could be sweeter!

Miss Priss thinks she is big and can use all things technology ;)

We spent so much time with Livi this month! Over the course of the past month, we each had tons of sickness at separate times...which means our girls got to spend extra time together! I swear, they really loved getting to ride in the double stroller, even though Livi looks less than thrilled.

Miss big girl learned the joy of riding in the shopping cart rather than the car seat carrier!

We also learned the "stank face". This was completely unprompted and has become Eva Kate's picture taking face of choice...this has been particularly lovely, as Easter was this month and we took tons of pictures:

I pray these girls are always getting into fun and mischievous things together!

First Easter baskets! One from mommy and daddy and one from melly and pop!

And one more from Easter for laughs....

ANNND finally, since I was a loser blogger over the past few months...here are Eva Kate's 5 month stats:

Happy Birthday Moose

I'm baaa-aack from a blogging hiatus of over a month!

Going back to work, track season gearing up, and balancing all of the things left me needing to take a little break from this outlet. However, I have truly missed it and will have lots of updates for you soon!

Yesterday was Moose's birthday!

Last year, we had a big 30th birthday bash, so this year, we kept it simple!

In the move, Moose had a moment of "over it" and trashed our grill. It was a little rusted and starting to not be as effective as a grill, so we decided to just be done.

I figured he would want a new grill for summer, so I combined that "need" and birthday and decided to get him a grill. Eva Kate and I set out on an adventure yesterday to find one. We realized that a put-together grill wouldn't fit in my car.  Hmm. We wanted a gas/charcoal combo and tried several stores until we finally found the one we liked.

A man helped us get it down, I shoved it in the car with all of my strength, and then Micah helped me get it out of the car.

Yall. That grill had over 80 bolts and 50 pieces. It was like worse than Ikea furniture!!! I put EK in her play seat and we set off. After several hours, interruptions by a needy 6 month old, and a little assistance from Mackenzie, we did it!!!

Now we have a nice new grill :) When moose got home, my parents, sisters, and Micah, Chelsea, and Livi came over for dinner and cake.

It was a low key, but fun birthday.

I sure do love birthdays around here. They give me an opportunity to reflect on the past year and think about how far we have come. Thirty has been a huge year for us. New jobs, new baby, new house, new car...basically all the change. I've loved to watch how Moose has ebbed and flowed with all of the change. I've been blessed with a laid back husband and now a great partner as we parent together.

I love you Moose! Happy 31!!!

Eva Kate - Four Months

This month may have been my absolute favorite for development for our sweet girl!

January 17-February 17 were sort of chill (comparatively, anyway) and we enjoyed just being with our people this month.

Here are Eva Kate's four month stats:

That picture sums up her personality so much. She does everything "big"! Eva Kate is either wildly happy, wildly angry, wildly tired, etc....get the picture? There is no calm and mild to her personality, that is for sure!

These big eyes slay me every night.

Eva Kate has discovered her voice and loves to talk to everything around.  She gets really mad when you don't listen or don't understand what she is trying to tell you. It is hilarious!

We were taking our pictures and all Eva Kate wanted to do was stand at the edge of her crib and talk to us. She was so mad that I would consider making her lay in the crib with everyone looking at her. I couldn't help but laugh!

Our girl has decided to be slightly needy. She wants our attention, she wants to be sitting up, she wants to be playing with something, and she is all about some entertainment. This is perfect for our busy lifestyle.

The one thing that is new that I'm not loving is that Eva Kate has decided she is too cool for her car seat. She screams the moment we put her in there. I die. It totally makes me crack up.

We have had some insanely warm weather this winter. It has given us the opportunity to do lots of fun things! We went to the Children's Museum with some church friends and visitors. We also went to Furman to watch some sweet girls from our church play. Brittany and Emma both play Furman softball. We love the Houstons, and the Ogburns are insanely special to our family.

Look at this face! Yall, this is our kid 100% of the time. Full on.

Eva Kate has started to enjoy her Exersaucer and Johnny Jump Up. She also still LOVES her owl mat and swinging in her Mamaroo (but only FULL SPEED AHEAD). Miss Priss will sit in her bumbo while I make supper and loves to listen to music.

On that note, she has a new favorite song and it is HILARIOUS to watch. Eva Kate will be pitifully said...turn on [wait for it] Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker (the old version doesn't work), and she literally giggles with glee. I think it is so funny. I never want to forget these little moments. They come and go so quickly.

Sleeping with no swaddle lasted approximately one week at the end of month three. We invested in a transition sleep sack and it has been great. Most nights, we get a stretch from 10-4 or 10-5. Praise the Lord! For a kid who hates to sleep, this is a major accomplishment.

Livi's mommy (Chelsea) went back to work this month. My mom keeps both girls on Monday and Tuesday. We've gotten lots of super cute pictures of the girlies lately!

Micah and I share a sibling rivalry (Mom is on my side; Mack is on Micah's) when it comes to Duke and North Carolina. I am a big Duke fan and was SO excited when we pulled out a rivaly win. Eva Kate agreed; can you not tell?

We just love our girl. She loves to eat her hands and feet (and anything else she can shove in her mouth). It is funny because we went to the doctor for her 4 month checkup, and the doctor was shocked that she was rolling both ways. However, Dr. L said, "I really want you to force her to do tummy time (YUCK) and be looking for her to find her feet and bring them to her mouth soon." Literally within two days, she had that foot in her mouth in the tub. Pediatricians know :)

I can hardly even fathom that she is going to be bigger than the Moose one of these days...but for now, I'm going to cherish her being tiny!

Miss sassy pants is our favorite girl in the world. We are thrilled each and every month with the fun new things she comes up with. Month Five is sure to bring plenty of new adventures and exciting talents. We can not wait!
