I spent the first weekend of the month at the beach with the best team EVER. We went to Kiawah to run an elite race and spent some times hanging out on the beach and bonding as a team.
Later that week, my sweet friend Nancy (and Dominican translator for our team) came to visit and share her heart with the women of our church. I am so insanely grateful for her heart and her story.
We spent a little bit of time getting last minute things ready for Eva Kate! She isn't going to be staying in her room at this house...it is mostly packed up...so, we organized her closet and a lot of her things so that we can use them between now and moving.
October 15 was the Region Championship for Cross Country. This was the magic day in my brain until which Eva Kate needed to stay inside my belly! She made it...thank goodness! We hosted the region meet and I wanted to be there to help and also to support my people! Morgan WON region and our girls were ALL all-region athletes. Several of our boys were all-region as well. Micah was region coach of the year. It was a goooood day.
The very next day, we went in for our induction. Read our birth story here and here.
Our precious Eva Kate joined the world on October 17 at 2:56 pm, weighing in at 6 lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long.
The rest of the month was a whirlwind of figuring out life with a newborn in the house, meeting all of the people, and growing as a family!
Outside of Moose and my immediate families, Eva Kate got to meet lots of others:
Grammy and Jim
The friend crew
My bestie Kelly
Cousins, Aunt, and Uncle on the Saville side
And this is Mrs. Sarah. Eva Kate was the youngest person at our Celebrate Calvary service this month at only 6 days old. Mrs. Sarah was the oldest, 94. Our church has been cloaked with debt for over 13 years. We were challenged to pay off that debt in 2016 and be able to move forward in missions, ministry, and outreach without the burden of a multimillion dollar debt. There was no way we would miss this celebration for what the Lord has done!
Eva Kate went to her first Cross Country race (outside the womb). It was Upper State. The kids debuted their new (and awesome) uniforms and we LOVED cheering on Aunt Mo!
We wrapped up the month with our church's trunk or treat! Eva Kate was the cutest pumpkin in the patch and we did a Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin theme.
We had two sessions of photos by some amazing photographers/church members/family friends that I'll be sharing with you soon. For now, here is a sneak peek--
October was such a blessed month, and we have fallen so in love with our precious Eva Kate. She is adorably cute! She sleeps really well about half of the time (grin). She is the MOST go with the flow baby ever....we have been to visit grandparents, cross country races, to shop for preemie clothes because she is itty bitty, and church several times--and all along the way, Eva Kate has been precious. She is the perfect fit to our little family, and we love her with our entire selves :)
